A walk around Thorney Island
One of the best things about being based in Emsworth is that you have the South Downs National Park to the north and the coast to the south. Emsworth does have its own beach, but, if you are looking for something a little different, there’s Thorney Island. A small island East of Emsworth with amazing walks and views.
There is a public footpath that runs around the edge of the island and totals 7 miles. You’ll find an unspoilt sandy beach halfway round, probably the best beach in the area! Make sure you’re on your best behaviour, Thorney is MOD land and walkers might be asked their intentions on the intercom before entering.
Here are a few photos from a recent walk around the island.
